This Oaxacan style soup is a great starter, or could be enjoyed as a meal in itself with hot tortillas.

    In the blender place ¼ of the beans with chicken broth, chipotle, and avocado leaves, blend well and set aside.

    Preheat a large saucepan over medium heat for 1 minute. Add vegetable oil, and heat for 1 minute. Add onions. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring. Add garlic, cook for 1 minute.

    Add puree from the blender to saucepan along with remaining beans and cooked chorizo. Simmer over low heat until heated through. Add salt to taste.

    Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with cheese, sour cream, cilantro and tomato.
