Season 2: Interview with Chicago’s first Deputy Mayor of Immigrant, Migrant and Refugee Rights, Beatriz Ponce de León

In this episode of Inspira®, Gilberto Villaseñor II, Chief Visionary of V&V Supremo®, sits down with Beatriz Ponce de León, Chicago’s first Deputy Mayor of Immigrant, Migrant and Refugee Rights. She shares her journey as the daughter of Mexican immigrants, her passion for public service, and the vision behind an office dedicated to welcoming, protecting, and empowering immigrant communities across Chicago.

Together, Gilberto and Deputy Mayor Ponce de León discuss how generations of immigrants have shaped Chicago through entrepreneurship, cultural traditions, and small businesses. From vibrant commercial corridors to family-owned businesses like V&V Supremo®, they highlight the importance of preserving opportunity, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating a true sense of belonging for every resident. This is more than a conversation about public service; it’s about people, resilience, and the partnerships that help communities thrive.

It is a powerful reminder that Chicago’s diversity, entrepreneurial spirit, and shared values continue to build a stronger future for all.
