Season 2: Interview with Jessica Perjes of Tacotlán

October 8, 2025

V&V Supremo® began in 1964 with a dream and just $500.

Brothers-in-law Gilberto Villaseñor Sr. and Ignacio Villaseñor, originally from Michoacán, Mexico, came to Chicago carrying with them the flavors, traditions, and spirit of the place they called home. When they saw how deeply families missed the fresh, hand-crafted Queso Fresco they had grown up with, they set out to recreate it the traditional way, with care and pride.

What began in a small Chicago neighborhood quickly became something more. Word spread as families discovered the fresh taste and quality of their cheese, and V&V Supremo® grew from one beloved Queso Fresco into a full line of cheeses, dairy, and meat products enjoyed in homes and restaurants across the country.

Today, the second and third generations proudly carry that dream forward. They honor the authentic recipes and traditions that started it all while continuing to innovate for modern kitchens.

For more than 60 years, one thing has remained at the heart of everything we do: a commitment to quality, tradition, and bringing people together around the table. From our family to yours, V&V Supremo® adds a special touch to every meal, creating great memories through great food.
