Ingredients

7 oz. Supremo® Pork or Beef Chorizo from V&V SUPREMO®
4 oz. finely diced celery
4 oz. finely diced yellow onion
2 small garlic cloves, minced
3 green onions, thinly sliced
1 oz. shredded carrot
1 oz. minced cilantro
1 tsp. soy sauce
22 wonton wrappers, thawed in cooler
1 Cup water
3 Cups peanut oil
Asian-Style Dipping Sauce (see recipe)

Method of Preparation

  1. Preheat a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat for 1 minute. Add chorizo to skillet and cook for 7 minutes, breaking up while it cooks. Add celery and cook for 3 minutes, stirring. Add onion and garlic. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Add green onions, carrots, cilantro, and soy sauce to the chorizo mixture. Mix well.
  3. Place 5 wonton wrappers on a cutting board. Place 1½ Tbsp. of the chorizo mixture in the center. Dip your finger in the water and moisten the edges. Fold wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing edges together to seal and to remove any air pockets. Seal with more water if necessary. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Pour peanut oil in a medium deep saucepan. Place over medium heat until oil reaches 350°-375°F. Fry the wontons in batches, until golden brown on both sides. Place the wontons on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  5. Serve with Asian-Style Dipping Sauce.
