Queso Sierra Cotija®

Named after the town of Cotija in the Villaseñor families’ home state of Michoacan, this is an aged, grated cheese with bold flavor, hearty aroma, and a dense, solid texture. The complex and distinctive taste of authentic V&V Supremo® Cotija cheese makes it quite versatile-it is perfectly suited for adding zest to refried beans, soups, salads, tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, and pastas. Mix it into casseroles and countless other preparations as a secret ingredient to transform already delicious dishes into extraordinary creations.

This is the namesake cheese from the town of Cotija de la Paz in the Villasenor families' home state of Michoacan Mexico. For centuries this hard, dry, grating cheese has been crafted with a high salt content to preserve it in warm climates. Sometimes compared to Parmesan, or Pecorino Romano, this is a cheese made for garnishing a host of dishes. V&V Supremo® offers this classic cheese in grated form or wedge, keeping faithful to the flavor profile of the original Michoacan product.
