    Using a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat. Add cinnamon sticks, piloncillo, and hibiscus flowers to the water and a boil for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to dissolve piloncillo. Remove the hibiscus flowers with a slotted spoon and discard.

    Stir in guavas, apples, sugar cane, tejocotes, and prunes.

    Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 35-40 minutes, occasionally stirring gently until the flavors are infused and fruit is tender.
