Although other beans are utilized, kidney beans are quite popular for soups and other preparations in El Salvador. This soup will convince anyone with the rich flavor. It’s as easy to make as it is tasty!

    Preheat a saucepan over medium heat for 1 minute. Add oil, onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring.

    Place beef broth, beans, and black pepper in the blender and blend well.

    Add puree to saucepan. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Add sour cream and bacon, continue stirring and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add salt to taste.

    Ladle soup into the bowls and sprinkle cheese on top. Enjoy!
